Transcendentalism

We can think of the literary and social movement called Transcendentalism as the American child of Romanticism because the former stems from and was engendered by the latter. They both have many ideas and perspectives in common, but Transcendentalism takes these ideas a bit further. The basic precept, or rule, of Trans'ism is : The basic truths of the Universe lie beyond the knowledge we obtain through our senses. Through senses, we learn the facts and laws of the physical world, and we can create science and technology, but there is another realm of knowledge that exists beyond what we can hear, see, or learn from books. We must use the sense of Intuition to transcend the physical world if we want to know the existence of our souls and our realation to the meta-reality beyond the physical world.
Because we cannot use our senses to understand this spiritual reality, we can only understand it through direct experience. What the Trans'ists were seeking is direct communion with the Over-Soul, which is an idea very similiar to Brahman, which is a shared universal soul that connects and includes all forms of Being- God, humanity, nature. Therefore, a Trans'ist feels ALL living beings are significant, from the smallest flea to the most important human. Everything is a significant part of this Universal Spirit the Over-Soul.

so what i get from "man thinking"n is that its your one thoughts. it relates to for example how everything on earth and so on is related in someway or another. and that we all everything of earth and far out has a same part but differently mixed (atoms). am i correct?

but this is all about religion ? a higher being and how this all relates to our every day life !! so i think we all have a little of thier ideas even today,it all comes into place that every thing has a role in "LIFE" and their is no such thing as coincidence!!
p.s do i get credit if i leave my name?

Yes you credit if you leave your name! Who are you?
It is not so much about an organized religion than it is about a universal philosophy. THere is no dogma or creed to obey and follow; in fact, Emerson, like Socrates and Plato, would tell you to think your own thoughts even if it contradicts and opposes the teacher. Go your own way and forge your own path. If your way is the same as mine, then that's OK, and if it differs that's OK too.

but mr.farley, how can we forge our own way and go our own path if everything we know and think is not an original thought!!!meaning we just didnt evolve and know how to think, feel and act. it was all taught by example! every day we learn things and the things we are learning are things from generations past down. so technally we arnt trully going our own way in life!!!we are following in others footsteps that they left for us.

that is a pretty tough question to answer. It does seem to me humans go in cycles but we all end up saying the same thing. I guess i cant really sufficiently answer your question except to say every day is new and different, so our thoughts must be different too, or at least the world to which we apply our thoughts is different than the world of ages past. This is what emerson is saying in American Scholar, we must use the past information because it helps us shape our own thoughts, and then we must CREATE and apply our spiritual knowledge and enlightenment to our world. We can do so much more with the information available to us, and it had never been so easy to access and share this information; the possibilities are endless. Who knows what can happen if humans channel and focus our energy and thoughts into figuring out existence.
